1. Introduction
The Developer reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. Changes will be published on this page with the corresponding update date.
2. Data collected by PillRem
PillRem only collects the data you enter directly into the application:
- Username: to identify profiles created in the app.
- Medication data: name, dose, form, dosing schedule, expiration dates, and optional photos.
- Dose records: history of doses taken, missed, or skipped.
- Doctor data: name, specialty, phone, email, and address, entered voluntarily.
- Approximate location: used exclusively to display nearby pharmacies, never stored or transmitted.
- App preferences: appearance mode, notification settings, and access code.
PillRem does not collect browsing data, advertising identifiers, or any usage data from other applications.
3. Where your data is stored
All data entered into PillRem is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled on your Apple account, data is synced in encrypted form between your Apple devices via CloudKit, Apple's synchronization service.
The Developer does not have access to your data at any time. Apple manages the CloudKit infrastructure in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at apple.com/privacy.
4. Use of data
The data entered into PillRem is used exclusively to:
- Display dose reminders and notifications.
- Calculate adherence statistics.
- Sync information between your devices via iCloud.
- Locate nearby pharmacies (only when you enable this feature).
PillRem does not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties under any circumstances.
5. Advertising
PillRem v2.0 and later versions contain no advertising of any kind. No ad networks, tracking SDKs, or advertising identifiers are used.

6. Device permissions
PillRem may request the following permissions:
- Camera: to scan medication barcodes and DataMatrix codes, and to add photos.
- Photos: to select images from the library and save medication photos.
- Notifications: to send dose reminders and expiration alerts.
- Location: to display nearby pharmacies. Only used when you enable this feature and never stored.
- Biometrics: to protect access to the application if you enable this feature.
All permissions are optional. You can revoke them at any time from your device's Settings.
7. Contact by email
If you contact the Developer via contactus@pillremapp.com, the Developer will use your email address exclusively to respond to your inquiry. Your contact details will not be stored and you will not receive unsolicited communications.
8. Minors
PillRem is not directed at minors under 16 years of age. If you become aware that a minor has provided personal data through the application, please contact us at contactus@pillremapp.com.
9. Change history — previous versions
Versions prior to v2.0 (up to and including v1.2.2)
Versions of PillRem prior to v2.0 included advertising via Google AdMob and used App Tracking Transparency to request advertising consent. In those versions, AdMob collected data for personalized ads, including device identifiers and approximate location. AdMob's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Since version 2.0, AdMob and any advertising SDKs have been completely removed from PillRem. If you are still using a version prior to 2.0, we recommend updating.
10. Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by Spanish law and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
