How can we help?

Most answers are below. If you still need help, write to us and include your iPhone model and iOS version.

Getting started

  • Add your first medication by scanning its box, or by hand if it is not recognised.
  • Set the schedule and the reminder times for each medication.
  • Allow notifications when PillRem asks, so reminders can reach you.
  • Turn on iCloud for PillRem if you use more than one device.

Reminders are not arriving

  • Check that notifications are allowed for PillRem in Settings, Notifications.
  • If you use Focus, reminders are time sensitive; make sure Time Sensitive Notifications are allowed for that Focus.
  • For doses you cannot miss, turn on critical alerts in PillRem.
  • Open PillRem from time to time: each visit schedules the reminders for the coming days.
  • Check that the dose is scheduled for today and the medication is active.

The scanner does not recognise a box

  • Hold the iPhone steady with good light and fit the whole code inside the frame.
  • Try the DataMatrix code (the small square) if there is one; it carries the most information.
  • If the medication is not in the database, add it by hand. Everything else works the same.

iCloud sync

  • Use the same Apple Account on all your devices.
  • Keep iCloud turned on for PillRem in Settings, your name, iCloud.
  • Sync needs a connection; changes made offline appear once you are back online.
  • Do not delete the app to fix a sync problem before writing to us: data that has not synced yet could be lost.

Purchases and subscriptions

  • Bought Pro on another device? Use Restore Purchases in PillRem Pro.
  • Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings, your name, Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before it renews.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy

  • PillRem has no account, no ads and no tracking.
  • Your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud. The developer cannot see it.

Medical questions

  • PillRem is a reminder tool, not medical advice. For questions about a dose or a treatment, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
